A fleet of long, weathered colony ships with blue-lit engines departs Earth’s orbit past a ringed orbital station, the sun rising over the planet’s curve and the Moon in the distance.

Chronicles · Volume I

Before the Fire

Before the Fire is humanity’s history before the war. It follows the families who left a troubled Earth to build a home at Terran Reach, the small survey crew who found a material no laboratory could explain, the first meeting with ships no one could identify, and the uneasy years that followed, as a young civilization tried to understand what it had met.

Earth had not been destroyed. That was the detail everyone got wrong.
