Tomas Vale was a member of the Wayfarer expedition and a witness to the first contact incident. The crew’s return home became part of Terran Reach’s modern history, and his recollections continued to influence how others spoke about the silence that followed the encounter.
The current canonical record does not establish his later circumstances. His absence from a particular scene must not be interpreted as confirmation of death, retirement, or estrangement.
