The colony arks carried people, equipment, memories, and the practical foundations of new settlements outward from Earth. They were instruments of migration rather than warships: vessels created to make life possible far from the world their passengers knew.
The journey became a defining historical inheritance for Terran Reach. Even after the colony developed thriving cities and advanced propulsion, its inhabitants continued to preserve the stories and artifacts of departure. The Museum of Departures is one expression of that cultural memory. Specific ark names, fleet counts, and migration dates have not yet been fixed in the canonical record.
