Juno Venn, Mara Venn’s granddaughter, serves in Terran Reach’s surface defense service. At about twenty-eight during the opening attack, she is assigned to Battery Three, one of the colony’s three major defense batteries.
Juno’s perspective in the Chronicles centers on the practical work of intercepting incoming threats. Her displays present tracks, timings, and predicted impacts rather than the larger intentions of the forces fighting above her. That limited view is an important part of the story: those on the ground can defend their homes courageously without knowing precisely how the conflict began.
