Terran Reach protects its four principal cities with shield installations that manifest as luminous honeycomb structures overhead. The domes form part of the surface-defense system and can distribute the force of incoming impacts across their hexagonal pattern.
The shields are powerful but not invulnerable. During the opening siege, they operated alongside missile-interception batteries as repeated attacks pressed against limited defensive capacity. Their image—warmly illuminated cities under a pale geometric sky—became one of the defining visual symbols of the defense of Terran Reach.
