Terran Reach’s orbital defense network comprises widely distributed stations, detection platforms, interceptor cradles, and associated command systems. Rather than one solid physical ring, it is an extensive network of installations and monitored orbital lanes. Its purpose is to detect dangers at a distance and protect inhabited territory.
Built during years of rapid advances in Vectorium-related engineering, the network combines human oversight with automated threat classification and response. During the returning unknown fleet’s approach, its automated systems authorized and initiated the fire that began the opening battle. The distinction between what the network recorded and what citizens were told became a defining feature of the crisis.
