ORIGIN

Met at the threshold of Andromeda, holding the corridor the Hegemony fleet retreated through. Their home system is unknown.

They are not Thaevrek. Their ships, weapons and doctrine belong to the Aurelian Synod, a different and more advanced civilization.

TECHNOLOGY

  • Field-bound ships: separate hull parts held in place by fields, in pearl-white and silver with teal and blue armour.
  • Crystal focus prisms fire cyan lasers; floating rail vanes drive heavy rounds and recoil with every shot.
  • Flat drive slots that burn as blades of teal light instead of round engines.
  • Projected hexagonal fields that shield allies and regrow when left alone.
  • Cultivated living architecture: repair vessels mend hulls and regrow destroyed fighters.
  • Precision beams, sensor locks and disruption fields; capital ships and a flagship of the same design.
  • Electrical warfare on a storm world: shield-disruption bolts that halve shield capacity, field-node links between ships, storm-command capitals and lightning called down from the sky.

ASSESSED MOTIVE

Current theory, unconfirmed: the Synod fights beside the Hegemony as an ally. Why a civilization this advanced would take that side is unknown.

This assessment will be revised as intelligence improves.

COMBAT DOCTRINE

  • Coordinated fire: laser wings charge together and fire as one net.
  • Support first: field projectors and repair vessels keep the line intact — destroy them early.
  • Precision over volume: charged beams and locks punish a predictable lane.
  • Capital ships launch escorts and absorb a VECTOR strike with their armour.
