ORIGIN

Hegemony forces appear to originate from the direction of Andromeda. Their home system remains unconfirmed.

The fleet's withdrawal points increasingly toward Andromeda as its operational origin and retreat corridor.

Earlier assessment

Intel's origin assessment before the pursuit toward Andromeda.

Hegemony forces arrive from deep space beyond Terran Reach. Their home system and point of origin remain unconfirmed.

TECHNOLOGY

  • Heavily armoured warships of every class — fighters, support ships, carriers, capital ships and fortress-scale platforms — in dark gunmetal and charcoal with restrained red-orange markings.
  • Specialized planetary craft: volcanic war saucers and an industrial extraction platform adapted for combat.
  • Drones in every role: swarm defenders, attack drones and work drones launched by larger machines.
  • Terran Intelligence assessment, unconfirmed: Ballistic cannons, heavy shells, missiles and guided ordnance — not energy weapons.
  • Shield technology, Guardian protection platforms and suppression drones that stop our shields recharging.
  • Repair ships that restore damaged hulls in the middle of a battle.
  • Enough understanding of VECTOR technology to shield their critical systems from it.

ASSESSED MOTIVE

Current theory, unconfirmed: the offensive is connected to humanity's discovery and weaponization of Vectorium and VECTOR technology. The Hegemony appears to regard continued human VECTOR development as a threat serious enough to justify a pre-emptive campaign.

We do not know why. Intercepted behaviour suggests they understand Vectorium far better than we do.

Their retreat toward Andromeda implies a larger political or technological situation than we currently understand.

This assessment will be revised as intelligence improves.

COMBAT DOCTRINE

  • Layered defence: escorts screen support ships and critical systems.
  • Repair and Guardian assets keep the line intact — expect them to be protected.
  • Heavy ballistic fire in volume, saturating lanes rather than picking single shots.
  • Carriers reinforce any fight that drags on.
  • Hostile worlds get purpose-built machines: volcanic saucers and chemical extraction platforms fight where they were made to work.
  • Warships grow larger and heavier the deeper we push.
  • Ordered withdrawals: the fleet is falling back toward Andromeda under pursuit.
